What will be my working schedule?

Among the biggest perks of working from home is the flexibility in working hours. Working on a tracker means that you only get paid for actual hours worked, but you get to choose when those are.

Nonetheless, you do work for a client, in a team and with deadlines. You agree to be available 40 hours a week on average, to be available on hours that your client and team need you, and to communicate in advance when you deviate from planned hours.

To guarantee consistency and quality of your work, we expect you to work at least 6 hours and no more than 10 hours a day. Depending on seasonality and peak hours you may be asked to be available certain hours, and to plan your day accordingly.

Whenever you are not behind the PC you agree to be available on mobile for questions via Slack & JIRA, to prevent blocking your team from moving forward. Documenting your work properly will mitigate the time spent on this. ;)

How is organized the Recruitment process?

We start by fully understanding your resource needs, whether this is for one staff member or an entire team. Interviews will be conducted one-on-one during initial assessments by our recruitment experts. We then administer different tests, which vary from skill to personal focused exams. And during final interviews, we invite you to join via our video conferencing tools and make the final selection of your staff.

Timing of each phase can vary depending on the job description for the roles being hired, although if we have matching CVs in our database that are available we can move from registration to offer in a day.

We use a highly integrated recruitment application that will enable us to target the best and the brightest, attract specific talents and offer candidates a smooth onboarding process.

The tool allows us to:

Create, manage and publish job postings. This function integrates with our hiring team and recruitment experts to give everyone full visibility.
Screen applications. As this can be a tedious process, we make use of shortlisting systems to filter those with the highest matching criteria.

How much will I pay for HOPLA’s services?

Our pricing structure is transparent and enables our clients to have more control. As an example, salaries of entry level staff can start at USD2/hour and depending on their qualifications, seniority and the cost of living in their locations, can go up to USD10/hour. For all our management support & tools (i.e. sourcing, recruitment, on-boarding, training, managing & payroll, tools and systems), we charge a fixed hourly rate.

Your distributed team is logged into a work tracker, one of the many tools we provide you with to track the actual hours worked. This is important as the actual hours worked are reflected as the basis of your monthly cost. Unlike conventional outsourcing companies, where employees check in and out of work, our staff tracks their time to specific tasks you assign to them, with 10-minute intervals. You’re in full control of their task and have total visibility of what they do, making this an ideal and transparent process.

You’ll also be in control of the cost as well as bonuses, if you wish to upgrade your staff, which is a simple handling in our system. We’ll provide advisory on the right hourly rates, increases and bonuses to make sure the right reward structures are in place.

What is the difference between HOPLA and freelance websites?

Freelance websites, also known as job auction sites, offer a variety of different jobs for freelancers around the world. Freelancers normally work solo and you would work with them directly without having an intermediary company. HOPLA is not a freelance website as our setup is very different:

Job auction We don’t want people competing with each other and lowering their prices to land a job. Bidding behavior and undercutting on these freelance websites are common, and certainly doesn’t improve quality of work. Our philosophy is to find skilled candidates that match your requirements, hire them with the appropriate compensation yet you retain control of the selection. We also aim for full-time engagement so these resources are an extension of your team, and share your long-term goals and mindset.

Another concern among many freelancers is job security, as much of the work is project-based. We don’t allow our teams to job-hunt while they are still employed by our clients. Therefore, our approach is to develop sustainability in their jobs as well as a future with you and your company. We achieve this through minimum full time commitment, access to our global work-from-home community and transform our clients into remote businesses.
